Boeing’s long-delayed 787 Dreamliner is now ready for commercial flights, after being certified by US and European regulators.
Launch customer, Japan’s All Nippon Airways is slated to receive the passenger jet in late September.
Last week, ANA unveiled the 787′s first regular long-haul international service between Tokyo’s Haneda and Frankfurt, starting in January 2012.
The world’s first passenger flight on the Dreamliner will be a special ANA charter service between Tokyo’s Narita airport and Hong Kong on October 26 and 27.
ANA has chosen a two-class cabin for its 787s, which will also feature a bidet toilet for passengers.
Boeing’s new 747-8F –the cargo version of its new revamped jumbo jet, was certified last week. The passenger version: the 747-8 Intercontinental, has not yet received FAA approval.
